The place of origin of Malabar green pepper is the Malabar coast of India. They are grown together with other crops and livestock, creating an organic ecosystem and optimal conditions for the entire area.
Green peppers are harvested before their berries are ripe and briefly dried in the hot sun of the day, allowing them to retain their green color and mild citrus aroma, while also being perfect for cooking. Because the peppers are harvested before they are fully ripe, they are a bit milder than regular black pepper.
